How to open the Browser inside your VR Headset

When you see a browser on a VR headset, you might wonder what the point is. After all, you can already access the internet on your laptop, your tablet or your phone: why would you want to browse the web using your VR Headset? The answer is WebXR. With WebXR, websites can host fully immersive VR experiences, meaning that you aren’t just looking at a webpage, you can actually be inside it!

SimpleDraw uses the WebXR technology built into the web browser in your headset to generate immersive VR walkthroughs for floor plans that you create in SimpleDraw on your computer, without you ever having to install an app.

When you open the browser on your VR headset, navigate to simpledraw.app/live. You’ll see a 5-character code. On your computer, open the floor plan you want to view, click the VR goggles button, select "Open on VR Headset using a code", and enter the code. We’ll take care of everything else, and the floor plan should appear in your headset within seconds.

Yes. When you generate a code on your VR headset, our servers ensure that the code is unique to your headset. When you enter it on your computer, you can be confident that your floor plan will be sent to your headset and only your headset. Your floor plan data is transmitted directly from SimpleDraw’s servers to your headset’s browser over an encrypted HTTPS connection. One thing to be aware of: the URL used to view your floor plan will be stored in your headset’s browser history. If you are using a shared or borrowed headset and you don’t want the floor plan accessible to anyone else, clear it from the browser history before returning the headset — or use Private mode (see below).

Yes, and it works fine with SimpleDraw. In Private mode, the Meta Browser does not collect domain-level browsing data, and your session is not stored in the browser history — so there’s nothing to clear when you return a borrowed headset. To open a Private tab in Meta Browser, tap the tab icon and select "New Private Tab". Note that Meta still collects basic technical data (device model, OS version, browser version) even in Private mode, unless you opt out of "Additional Data Sharing" in your headset settings.
